Day started pretty good for the Cowboys' fans Cowboys selected Bobby Carpenter. I think that is perfectly suited for our seemed to go downhill after Carpenter choice.
Cowboys' me into a state of disbelief when they selected TE Anthony Fasano. I've warmed up to this pick since then, because I wanted the guys in the second round are all still available on our third pick.
Fasano is a basically a blue-collar man who outworks his opponent. He is a good receiver with great hands, but lacks great athletic ability. He is very low bust factor, and should be able to contribute as a receiver and blocker immediately.
Guys were left over WR Demetrius Williams, FS Ko Simpson, NT Gabe Watson and OG Max Jean-Gilles. Then the unthinkable happened, we chose freaking DE Jason Hatcher in the 3rd st. Come on now, I have him as a player and I think that is very underrated, but DE deepest place in our club. Hatcher is 6'6 285 and generally dominated his opponents in Grambling St. He has great athletic ability and could really become a great player. And he better, the players have passed on his age.
I definitely would not be surprised to see us trade Ellis, because the choice of more smisla.Jedini see another explanation for this pick is that the Bill is unhappy with Marcus Spears, and she thinks she will be a good player. This pick reminds me of what the Patriots did a few years ago. They spent three great picks on defensive end for the 3-4 start when they are already in place.
The only good thing I can say about our first day that we have added four picks. This sounds great on paper, but if we do not start by selecting the player positions of need, and will not take any chance to get these because they will be behind much of the guys on the depth chart.
All this shows how unpredictable the draft can be. You think you know what your team needs, but they go in a different direction. No one could predict that Simpson and Watson would have fallen this far. I did not expect to see the account, select Donte Whitner at # 8
Another thing that surprised me is that a lot of pre-draft rumors turned out to be true. Think about Mario Williams going to Dallas, Young goes on Titan, and the fact that the Raiders actually passed on Matt Leinart.
I just hope Bill knows what he's doing, but this draft is starting to remind me of the 2004 draft we really missed out on every pick except Jones, Crayton, and perhaps Peterman. I do not know much about these players because every team has, but I think it is awesome to look to our draft with Carpenter, Watson and Simpson as our first day picks. Although it is almost pointless, I'll give you the other day mock for you guys. This assumes we hope could save the draft. All I can say is trust in the account!
4 - FS Ko Simpson
There is obviously something about this man teams do not like. He falls like FS James Butler last year. He was a projected second 3 nd the man who went in the 7th. The funny thing is he was actually a pretty good rookie year, the Giants. Please Bill, or get Simpson, Jean-Gilles, Watson, and D. Williams.
5 - NT Montavious Stanley
We need a backup nose tackle. That and free safety are the two remaining glaring holes.
6 - G / T Issac Sowells
We need depth along the offensive line. Parcells is apparently quite confident in our guards, though, or we already have one.
6 - WR Jeremy Bloom
Bloom could get us some young depth at receiver, while contributing mostly as a boat Returner.
7 - FB Matt Bernstein
7 - P Steve Weatherford
Punter, long-range goal kicker, and kick-off specialist.
